Sr. Genevieve

When I wake up suddenly in the middle of the night or wake up in the morning and the very first thing I see is that it is 13 or 33 minutes after the hour it is a sure indication that it will continue throughout the day. It does not necessarily mean I will end up in Emmitsburg before the day is out but it did today.

I woke up this morning and I turned my head to look at the clock next to the bed and the time was 6:33. Later in the morning I was looking through some things in preparation for our move and I came across the program from the Legion of Mary Acies that was held at "Parish Church" on March 27, 2004. I placed it with the March 30th paper I wrote describing that day and at that very instant the feeling of peace hit me. I glanced at my watch and the time was 7:33.

I drove to "Parish Church" to attend daily mass. I glanced at my watch just as I arrived and it said XX:XX:33. Today is Fr. ___’s first day back since returning from Europe and at the very instant I first saw him the feeling of peace hit me again very hard. I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:13.

I started my workday in "hometown" knowing I had to be in Manassas at some point today. I had an appointment with my insurance agent at my house at noon and planned to leave for Manassas after that. I took my lunch break and drove out to my house to meet Harry Greene and I purchased and additional amount of life insurance to cover the new house in Carroll Valley. When Harry left I got in my car to leave for Manassas and the time on the dash when I started the car was 12:33.

I arrived in Manassas and stopped first at All Saints to pray the rosary before the Blessed Sacrament. I glanced at my watch as I arrived and it said XX:XX:33. I walked in the chapel and Wednesday adoration was in progress. I knelt down and just as I started the Glorious rosary I again felt the strong surge of peace. I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:13. When I finished the rosary I drove across the street to work and when I arrived the odometer was 3.3

I did the work I needed to do in Manassas and in perfect synchronization with the completion of a task I was doing the feeling of peace hit me again and very hard. I glanced at my watch and the time was 3:33.

I wish I knew how to describe the feeling of peace that suddenly comes. There is nothing I can compare it to so I will just say that it is like a light bulb that suddenly lights a dark room. It is very noticeable.

When I got off work I had every intention of going home and the thought of going to Emmitsburg never crossed my mind until I arrived at my car and decided to go back to the Adoration chapel at All Saints. I glanced at my watch and time was 5:13:13.

I arrived in the chapel and prayed the Luminous rosary before the Blessed Sacrament and before I had finished the rosary I had decided that I was going to ride to Emmitsburg. I looked at my watch as I walked out of the chapel and the time was 5:33:59.

While I was driving I saw a garage that did Va. State Inspections. I needed a Va. inspection because the new Toyota was purchased in Maryland so it did not have one. After the inspection I continued my trip to Emmitsburg.

I was driving along and I did not have any idea why I was going tonight. Suddenly I remembered that I needed to visit Sr. Genevieve on my next trip up to give her some money for a special cause. At the very instant I remembered that I just happened to notice the CD player flash 33. As I continued to drive I again suddenly remembered that I had recently written my last check and did not have $39.00 cash. At this point I again did not know why I was riding to Emmitsburg. Suddenly I remembered I had another check book in the console of my car, I reached in and got it and suddenly the feeling of peace hit me again. I knew to glance at my watch and it said XX:XX:33.

I arrived in Emmitsburg and drove straight to St. Joseph’s. I got out of the car and thought about the traffic and stopping to get the car inspected and all of the other things that caused me to arrive at St. Joseph’s when I did. I kissed the corner of the church and knew to look at my watch. The time was 7:33:00.

I said a few prayers and drove to St. Catherine’s to visit Sr. Genevieve. When I got there the receptionist reminded me that the doors would be locked at 8 PM and if I came down after that to use the door in the side hall to get out. I walked up to Sr. Genevieve’s room and when I got there she looked very bad. I could tell she had been crying. She said she had a very bad day but was very glad I was there. I gave her the check for $39.00.

Sr. Genevieve then proceeded to tell me the details of her will. She said that she has left instructions in her will that when she dies that S.C.C. and I receive the large framed picture of Our Lady of Emmitsburg that she has. She also told me what everyone else will be getting. I told her that none of us want anything for a long, long time. She laughed and said “I don’t think it will be tomorrow”.

When we finished talking I left and when I got downstairs it was after 8 PM and the door was locked. I walked to the other door that the receptionist told me about and it was also locked. I tried every door I could find and each one was locked. I finally had to walk to the nursing section and ask a nurse how to get out. She directed me to a door and said it would take me to the parking lot.

I went out the door and found myself in a garden with sidewalks that led to dead ends with a bench. I still did not see a way out because it was all surrounded by fence. It reminded me of the evening I got locked in the Grotto.

I finally found a small wooden gate and got out that way. I returned to my car and drove back to St. Joseph’s to finish the rosary I started earlier in the day. When I arrived at St. Joseph’s the time was 8:33. I sat in my car in front of the church and completed the rosary by praying the remaining two mysteries. When I finished I started to car to leave and the time on the dash was 9:13. I drove home and just as I walked in my front door the peace hit me again. I looked at my watch and the time was 11:33:00.
