Miraculous Medal Novena

February 7, 2005

This morning was another one of those nights that I was suddenly awakened with a urgent feeling of being asked to pray. The feeling of peace made me want to pray. I looked over at the clock next to the bed and the time was 3:33.

I prayed for a while and for some reason I knew there was going to be something special today. I had no idea what it would be but I knew it was coming. While I was praying I fell back to sleep. Later in the morning I got up to go to work and as I pulled out of my driveway the feeling of knowing there was going to be something special today caused to go glance at my watch and it said XX:XX:13 and the outside temperature gauge on the dash was 33.

I drove to St. Joseph’s to say a few prayers before going to work and just as I arrived the time was 6:13. I prayed for a few minutes and then I left. As I pulled out the CD counter flashed 13.

While I was driving to work I had a sudden, crashing thought about all of the papers I have written about Emmitsburg. It was very strong and I remembered writing in a previous paper that I believe it is my personal proof from God about the apparitions of Our Lady here in Emmitsburg. At that very instant I looked up and the CD counter was 3:33.

A little later into my drive to work I suddenly remembered a scene from the movie The Passion of The Christ where Mary was calling Jesus’s name. Jazus, Jazus, Jazus. It was so real in my mind and so clear it was like I could hear it coming from within me. Suddenly it caused such a feeling of peace that not only was it a spiritual peace but also a physical peace where I actually felt a tingling heat run through my entire body. At that instant I noticed the odometer was 3.3 and the CD counter was 33 and I glanced at my watch and it was XX:XX:33.

I arrived at All Saint’s for mass and the odometer was 3.3. I glanced at my watch and it was XX:XX:33. I then walked in All Saint’s and genuflected before the Blessed Sacrament. At that instant I felt the peace and glanced at my watch and the time was 8:13.

I did not stay for mass because I would be going tonight at the Miraculous Medal Novena at St. Joseph’s. When the Blessed Sacrament was removed I went across the street to work and arrived there at 8:33.

Shortly after I arrived at work my friend who I am helping back into the church came to my desk asking if confession would be available when we go to Emmitsburg on the 11th. I told him that we would be able to find a priest. He said he had not been in 30 years.

Later in the day when everyone else left for lunch I went to All Saint’s to pray a rosary. I glanced at my watch just as I started the rosary and the time was 12:33. I prayed the Joyful and Sorrowful and when I finished I glanced at my watch as I walked out of the chapel. The time was 1:13.

I returned to work and was very busy the rest of the afternoon. When I finished all of my work I left for the day and as I was leaving I looked at my watch and the time was 5:33. While I was driving a very sudden out of nowhere thought hit me about our upcoming trip to Medjugorje. At that instant the CD flashed 33 and a car pulled in front of me with a license plate of 33. A few minutes later I had a sudden out of nowhere memory of seeing Our Lady of Emmitsburg on December 8th. At that very instant the CD counter flashed 33.

I arrived at St. Joseph’s just as the clock on the dash switched to 7:33. I was struck with peace as I walked in the church and I glanced at my watch and it said 7:33:33. During the Miraculous Medal Novena I thought about suddenly waking up this morning at 3:33.

Fr. O’ Malley was the priest and he gave a very surprising and unexpected homily and it went like this:

We here in Emmitsburg have a very strong devotion to Mary. He then explained that we venerate Mary and go to Jesus through Her. He then said that our strong devotion to Mary is not unique. He said people all over the world have the same kind of devotion to Mary. He then gave examples of such places in the world such as Fatima, Lourdes and a long list of other apparitions sites around the world including Medjugorje. Some of them I had never heard of. When Fr. O’Malley finished his homily Becky Brown looked back at me with a stunned look on her face and just grinned ear to ear.

When the mass ended I suddenly knew that this was the something special I had been expecting since 3:33 this morning. I glanced at my watch as I walked out the door and it said XX:XX:33. I drove home and just as my car came to a complete stop the CD counter flashed 33.
