Renewed Attacks on Our Lady of Emmitsburg

1st Friday Saturday & Sunday Aug 5-7, 2005

Over the past few weeks there have been many attacks against the apparitions of Our Lady to Gianna from many different directions. It seems that this latest round of attacks was triggered when someone placed the 6 messages given by Our Lady at St. Josephs back in the year 2000 in the local Emmitsburg Dispatch. These messages talked about the Emmitsburg area being the Center of Her Immaculate Heart. In these messages Our Lady also talked about welcoming all people to this place.    Part 1    Part 2   Part 3

This has angered many people around here, especially the ones who have worked so hard to destroy the apparitions of Our Lady. This is not surprising and is not unexpected. Since the public apparitions have been taking place on the 1st Sunday of every month at Karen and Mick Major’s farm more and more people have been coming from all over. With this gaining support from so many people also comes the attacks to try to knock it down again.

Nobody knows who is responsible (except the Emmitsburg Dispatch) for putting the messages in the paper. Gianna Sullivan and St. Peter’s books seem to get most of the blame but neither had anything to do with it at all. The attacks have ranged from irate citizens writing letters to the editor and St. Joseph’s placing a brief notation in the weekly bulletin to the Archdioceses forbidding St. Joseph’s in Taneytown to have the 2 PM mass on the 1st Sunday of each month.

Mission of Mercy is also under attack and the 2nd Sunday Mission of Mercy mass at St. Mary’s seems threatened. Like I said this is not surprising and there is more than enough support around here to continue to stand up for the truth.

First Friday August 5th

I stopped at St. Joseph’s on my way to work this morning to say a few prayers to counteract the attacks we are currently going through. Just as I arrived and started my prayers I instantly felt the peace. I looked up at that instant and the time on the dash switched to 6:33.

After finishing a few short prayers I left to go to work. While I was driving I felt the need for extra rosaries during this difficult time. It was so strong I glanced at my watch and is said XX:XX:13. I prayed the Sorrowful Mysteries while I was driving to work. When I arrived in Manassas I stopped at All Saint’s for mass. As I pulled into the 1st available parking slot I noticed the car next to me had the license plate of 13. Mass ended and I glanced at my watch as I walked out the door and it said XX:XX:33.

I then drove across the street to work and again I felt the peace just as I came to a complete stop. My watch said XX:XX:13. I was very busy at work and when I got to a good breaking point I took my lunch break and went to All Saint’s. I looked at my watch as I was leaving and the time was 12:33.

I sat in the adoration chapel and did my LMC Study group homework. At the very instant I completed it and closed the book I looked up and saw a reflection in the glass chapel door. It was a reflection of the hymn board and it said 333. I then prayed the Glorious Mysteries of the rosary. When I finished I left and as I started pulling out the odometer switched to 3.3.

When I returned to work I was very busy and later in the afternoon Phil C called me. He wanted to know if I could pick up Jim O’Brien on my way home from work this evening for the LMC study group. Phil then told me that St. Joseph’s was going to put something negative in this weeks bulletin about the apparitions of Our Lady. We hung up and the timer on my phone was 3:33.

It was so busy at work that I knew I was going to be late leaving and would most likely be late for the LMC study group. My supervisor then said “There is no reason for both of us to stay here, you can go ahead and leave” I said thanks and left. I glanced at my watch and the time was 5:33.

I called Phil and Jim and told them that I was going to be late. I arrived in Emmitsburg and picked up Jim. We then rode by St. Joseph’s and when we got there, there was only one car parked . It’s license plate was 33.

We drove to Phil’s house and when we arrived and the car came to a complete stop I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:13. The rest of the group was there and decided to wait for us to arrive by praying a rosary. They were just finishing when we arrived. Later the study group ended and then we spent a few minutes discussing the current attacks that are underway. I then left and when I started my car the time on the dash was 10:13.

Jim rode home with Mick M____ and I drove home. I then sat down and caught up all of my notes and when I finished I rode to St. Joseph’s for First Friday adoration. When I arrived the car sitting in front of the church had the license plate of 13.

I went in the church and prayed before the Blessed Sacrament. I did not pray the rosary because I was to tired. I just prayed in my own words about what is happening and left after just a few minutes. I glanced at my watch as I walked out the door and it said XX:XX:13. I drove home and just at the car came to a complete stop the CD flashed 13.

First Saturday August 6th

S.C.C. and I got up this morning and went to St. Mary’s for the 8 AM mass and the LMC monthly meeting. The meeting this morning was a “mini retreat” with Sr. Thelma Steiger. Sr. Tammy is a Franciscan who lives here in Fairfield and worked with Mother Teresa in New York on several occasions.

On one occasion Sr. Tammy was working with the poor and distributing ½ loaves of bread to the poor. Mother Teresa stopped her and asked why each person was only getting a half loaf. Sr. Tammy replied “So there won’t be any waste. Mother Teresa’s response to that was “Give them the whole loaf and teach them to share.” The mini retreat ended and I glanced at my watch and the time was 12:33.

Later in the afternoon I stopped by St. Peter’s Books and help set up some display cases. When we finished that I drove to St. Joseph’s to pray the rosary. I arrived at 6:13. I prayed the rosary and looked at my watch when I finished and walked out the door and the time was 6:33.

(I completed up to this point on 13 Aug at 12:13 Am)

Sunday August 7th

We got up this morning and attended the 8 AM mass at St. Mary’s because the 2 PM mass at St. Joseph’s in Taneytown had been cancelled. After mass Joe F and I went out to breakfast and made our plans for the upcoming talk about Medjugorje by Wayne Weible who will be here next week. We are on the planning committee. After finishing I drove home and arrived at 10:33 and at the very instant the car came to a complete stop the CD flashed 33.

I spent the rest of the morning catching up on some things such as getting my notes up to date from the digital voice recorder I use. When I finished the notes I glanced at my watch and the time was 11:33:59. I then sat at my computer and completed the 19 July paper and finished it at 12:33. I then wrote the 25 July paper and completed it at 1:33.

S.C.C., C.R.C. and myself then got ready to go to the monthly public apparition of Our Lady at Karen and Mick Major’s farm. S.C.C. said she and C.R.C. were going to go in her car because I had to pick up Ray Sanders at St. Joseph’s. Like always I was not paying any attention to the time whatsoever but when I started my truck to leave I was suddenly struck with peace despite the attacks we are currently enduring. The time on the dash was 2:13.

The peace at this particular instant hit me as hard as it has ever hit me. Totally by surprise and so filled with peace it could have easily taken me to tears. Moments such as this give me strength because I know with 100% certainty it is Our Lady. I believe She gives us extra strength at times we need it the most to deal with the forces that would like to destroy us. I have an additional advantage and that is all I have to do is remember seeing Our Lady of Emmitsburg on December 8, 2004 at 3:33 AM and it gives me instant strength and determination.

I drove to St. Joseph’s and Ray was waiting outside when I arrived. I wanted to go in for just a minute to say a quick prayer before going to the farm but when I tried to go in the door was locked. I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:13.

Ray and I rode out to the farm and there was a very large crowd there. Every month there are more and more people. There were even people here from "hometown" and Madison. Jim T from Our Lady of the Blue Ridge brought some friends with him from "Parish Church" but I had never met them before.

Just before the prayer service began Mike Sullivan made the announcement that there would not be any more 2 PM masses at St. Joseph’s in Taneytown. He then started the rosary and at that instant I felt the peace. I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:33.

Our Lady appeared to Gianna during the 4th decade of the Glorious Mysteries. When She appeared I again felt the peace. I glanced at my watch and again it said XX:XX:33. When the apparition ended the rosary resumed where it had left off. That was followed by the Chaplet of Divine Mercy that was led by Jim O’Brien and Becky Brown. That was followed by a special prayer to God The Father that was led by Mick Major. At the very instant the prayer to God The Father ended I again felt the peace. I glanced at my watch and the time was 4:13:33.

The prayer group service ended with Carlos singing the Ave Maria and at the instant he finished singing I again felt the peace and glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:33.
