S.C.C.’s Cousin’s Death & First Friday, Saturday and
First Sunday Public Apparition of Our Lady of Emmitsburg
November 3 - 6, 2005
November 3rd
It has been a sad week for us because S.C.C.’s cousin Harvey J was involved in a single car accident on Rt. 3 near Fredericksburg on Wednesday and died on Thursday. When I got off work Thursday evening Harvey was still alive. I stopped by All Saint’s to say a prayer for him and glanced at my watch as I walked in the chapel door. The time was 5:33:13. As I knelt before the tabernacle I felt the peace hit me as I started to pray for Harvey and it was so strong I glanced at my watch and it now said 5:33:33.
Harvey had already been declared brain dead upon arrival at the Fairfax Hospital yesterday. When I finished praying for Harvey I left and drove back to Emmitsburg and stopped at St. Joseph’s to say a few more prayers for him. At the instant I completed the prayers I noticed the CD counter flash 13 and as I pulled away from St. Joseph’s the CD flashed 33.
After arriving home I was told Harvey died and it was just about the same time I was praying for him at All Saint’s. Harvey was driving my old truck that I gave him before we moved.
First Friday, November 4
I left to go to work this morning and drove to Manassas and just as I arrived at All Saint’s the CD flashed 13. During mass I continued to pray for Harvey and people like him who never had any opportunity in life and die a sudden and tragic death. I believe God takes into consideration such people who are born into an environment of poverty and lack of education.
I believe that Harvey now knows how much God loves him and according to God’s plan will one day enter heaven. During the consecration I felt the peace and glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:33. Mass ended and I drove across the street to work and just as the car came to a complete stop the CD flashed 3:33.
Later in the day I took my lunch break as the work load allowed. I drove back to All Saint’s and continued my prayers for Harvey by praying the rosary. I prayed both the Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries. I never looked at my watch until I completed the rosary and the time was then 1:33.
I went back to work and it was fairly slow the rest of the day. When I got off I drove back to Emmitsburg and had to take a detour because of another car accident on Rt. 15 in Maryland. When I finally arrived at St. Joseph’s I met an oncoming car directly in front of the church with the license plate of 33. I parked and as the car came to a complete stop the CD flashed 33.
I saw Fr. O’Malley walking towards the church and I also saw some other people I knew walking in the church. I had no intention of going in because I wanted to get home. SUDDENLY I felt like I should go in. It was a very strong feeling and at the instant it hit I glanced over at the CD and It flashed 33.
I walked in the church and Rose M asked me how I knew to arrive early. I told her I was just getting home from work. I saw Fr. O’Malley putting the monstrance on the altar. It was not until then that I realized for the very first time that today was First Friday. It never once crossed my mind. Fr. O’Malley thanked the few people who were there for coming early because he had a 8 pm wake to attend at the funeral home. I prayed the Glorious mysteries of the rosary before the Blessed Sacrament and left. I glanced at my watch as I walked out of the door and it said XX:XX:33.
I drove home and ate dinner and talked to S.C.C. and C.R.C. for a while. Later in the evening they went to bed and I sat down at my computer and wrote the October 9th paper and finished it at 11:13. I was tired but I wanted to go back to St. Joseph’s for First Friday adoration. I drove back to St. Joseph’s and looked at my watch as I walked in the church and the time was now 11:33:13.
There were about 15 people in the church and I just prayed before the Blessed Sacrament before praying the Sorrowful mysteries of the rosary. When I completed the rosary I left and glanced at my watch as I walked out of the church and it said XX:XX:33.
First Saturday November 5
I woke up early this morning and wanted to go back to St. Joseph’s because today is my fathers 76th birthday. He died when he was 50. I got dressed and drove to St. Joseph’s and when I arrived the trip meter portion of the odometer was 1.3.
I walked in the church but adoration was over and the Blessed Sacrament was no longer exposed. I prayed for a little while and left. At the instant the car moved an inch the odometer switched to 13 and the CD flashed 33. My car has a 2nd trip meter on the odometer and it simultaneously switched to 33.3.
I drove home and S.C.C. and I got ready to go to the First Saturday LMC meeting at St. Mary’s. We attended 8 am mass and that was followed by the Glorious Mysteries of the rosary. We then had our LMC meeting. The meeting ended and when I started the car to leave the time on the dash was 11:13.
I drove home and decided that I was going to sit down and write the October 24th paper. I sat down to write the paper and realized the time was now 11:33. While working on the paper Karen Major called asking if we could arrive at the farm early tomorrow to help set things up for the public apparition of Our Lady of Emmitsburg. I said yes. I continued writing the paper and glanced at my watch upon completion and the time was 1:33:33.
Public Apparition of Our Lady of Emmitsburg
Sunday November 6
Earlier in the week I talked to Ted Szymanski on my cell phone while driving home from work and asked him if he would like for me to come and get him again this month for the public apparition of Our Lady. Ted said he would love to come but did not want to put that burden on me. I told Ted not to worry about it and that I would come and get him. We hung up and at that instant I noticed the CD counter flashed 13.
Sunday came and S.C.C., C.R.C. and myself went to the 8 am mass at St. Mary’s, later in the morning I thought about it being time to go pick Ted up in Leesburg. I glanced at my watch as I thought about this and it said XX:XX:33. I drove to Leesburg and met Ted at Wal Mart. We got in his car and left for Emmitsburg. As we pulled out I noticed the time on Ted’s dash was 11:13. We rode back to St. Joseph’s but did not go in because the noon mass was in progress. We arrived there and prayed while sitting in the car. The time was 12:13.
We rode out to my house and picked up my truck because there was a table of ours at Karen and Mick Majors farm that I needed to bring home. A little later S.C.C. and C.R.C. left to go to the farm in S.C.C.’s car and Ted and I rode in my truck. We left early because Karen had called yesterday asking for some help. We stopped at St. Joseph’s on the way and when we arrived the odometer on my truck was 33.
We went in and said a few prayers and then left to go to the farm for the apparition of Our Lady of Emmitsburg. We then drove to the farm in Taneytown and arrived there and the time was 1:13.
We helped set things up and when we finished I suddenly remembered Roberta Marziani had called me earlier in the week saying she could not come today but asked me to write a petition for her and place it in the petition basket for Our Lady to take. I wrote down what she told me to and placed it in the basket and suddenly felt the peace. I glanced at my watch and the time was 2:13.
People started to arrive and I would estimate it to be about 300 people. Mike Sullivan announced that the prayers would begin in about 5 minutes. When he said this I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:33. After about 10 minutes he actually started the prayer service and I looked at my watch and the time was now 3:13.
Our Lady came during the 4th decade. During this time the weather was threatening but never rained. The feeling of peace was strong and at the instant the apparition ended I felt the peace and glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:13.
When everything was over S.C.C. drove home and C.R.C., Ted and myself helped clean up and put things away. When we finished we drove back to St. Joseph’s and when we arrived the time on the dash was 6:13.
We drove back to my house and put the truck away and got in Ted’s car and rode to the Ott House to eat. S.C.C. met us there. When we finished eating we got in the car to drive back to Leesburg and we stopped first at St. Joseph’s and when we arrived the time was 8:13 and the odometer on Ted’s car was 3.3
We then drove back to Leesburg and just as the car came to a complete stop I noticed the CD flashed 3:33. After dropping Ted off I drove back to Emmitsburg and stopped at St. Joseph’s and when I arrived the CD flashed 33, the odometer was 3.3 and the time was 10:13.
