First Friday-Saturday and Public Apparition of Our Lady of Emmitsburg

May 5-7, 2006

The final phase of renovations have begun at St. Joseph’s and the church will be closed until Labor Day. All of the pews are being taken out and refinished and the carpet is being replaced. During this time the church is locked and masses are held in the parish hall. The First Friday all night adoration has been suspended until that time.

Ivan Pare took it upon himself to ask Fr. Jack Lombardi if he would consider hosting the First Friday all night adoration in the glass chapel at the Grotto of Lourdes until it resumes this fall at St. Joseph’s. Fr. Jack said yes and left it up to Ivan to get the people for all night coverage. Since I have had the 3 to 4 am slot the past two months I told Ivan I would take that time slot. Despite the physical location change for the all night adoration, nothing really changed at all. It was the same as I will describe.

First Friday May 5

I have been debating the pros and cons of continuing to send C.R.C. to Delone Catholic High School. Sometimes I wonder if it is really worth the cost when so many negative things are said about the school. Anyway we reached the dead line to send the reservation form in. This morning I made a last minute decision to continue with Delone. C.R.C.’s ride to school was already in the driveway and he was ready to walk out the door. I signed the registration and instantly felt the peace. I glanced at my watch and the time was 6:13:00.

I left for work and stopped at St. Joseph’s. At the instant I arrived and the car came to a complete stop the CD flashed 13. I sat in the car and prayed for a few minutes. I thought about St. Joseph’s not having First Friday adoration tonight and it being held at the Grotto. As this thought hit I just happened to glance up and the CD flashed 33. I glanced at my watch as I pulled out and it said XX:XX:13. I drove to mass at All Saint’s in Manassas and mass began there at 8:33.

Fr. Bob Celinski was the priest and I felt the peace hit me at the consecration. I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:13. Mass ended and when I walked out of the door it said XX:XX:33. I drove across the street to work and at the instant the car came to a complete stop the CD flashed 13.

I was busy at work and when I took my lunch break I rode back over to All Saint’s. I wanted to spend that time catching up the notes from the voice recorder I use to write these papers. I arrived and again just as the car came to a complete stop the CD flashed 33. I sat in the cry room and caught up my notes. When I finished I left and just as I walked out of the church I met a car directly in front of me with the license plate of 13.

I went back to work and later in the afternoon Frank K called me. He said that his wife Corrine was feeling better after her back surgery and they both planned on coming to Emmitsburg on Sunday for the first Sunday apparition of Our Lady of Emmitsburg. As Frank told me he was coming I suddenly felt the peace. I glanced at my watch and the time was 3:33:33.

Later in the afternoon I got off work and while I was driving home my cell phone rang. It was Gianna Sullivan and she said she had bad news. Gianna told me that she had just talked to Fr. Mike M___ and that he has been “asked” to discontinue the second Sunday Mission of Mercy mass at St. Mary’s. Since I am the coordinator she said I needed to know. She also asked me to keep it confidential until there were more facts. We hung up and I knew something had just happened. I felt an instant of despair suddenly replaced by a feeling of peace. I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:13 and the odometer was 3.3.

I continued driving home and when I arrived in Emmitsburg I stopped at St. Joseph’s to say a prayer. When I arrived the only other car parked there had the license plate of 33. I suddenly remembered that I had not yet prayed my daily rosary because I used my lunch break today to catch up my notes in the cry room at All Saint’s. I prayed the rosary and when I finished I glanced at my watch and the time was 7:33. I drove home and just as the car came to a complete stop the CD flashed 033.

First Saturday May 6

Since I was scheduled from 3 to 4 am for Eucharistic Adoration at the Grotto I went to sleep on the living room sofa. S.C.C. brought down the alarm clock and set it so I would wake up. When the clock went off I got ready and left to go to the Grotto. S.C.C. had set the clock about 10 minutes fast. I started the car to leave and the time on the dash was 2:33.

I drove to the Grotto and it took longer because of a road construction detour. When I arrived and the car came to a complete stop the CD flashed 33. I glanced at my watch as I walked in the door of the glass chapel before the Blessed Sacrament and not surprising the time was 3:00:33.

Ivan was there along with about 10 other people including Fr. Jack Lombardi. I knelt before the Blessed Sacrament the entire hour and prayed the Sorrowful mysteries of the rosary especially for the renewed attacks against Mission of Mercy. When my hour was up I left and on the way home I stopped briefly at St. Joseph’s. I arrived there and the time was 4:13.

I drove the rest of the way home and went back to sleep. When I got up S.C.C. and I went to St. Mary’s for mass and the First Saturday LMC meeting. We attended mass and Fr. Mike was the priest. Mass ended and the time was 8:33.

The LMC members prayed the Glorious mysteries of the rosary after mass. We then had the monthly meeting and Fr. Mike joined us like always. We discussed the possibility of another LMC retreat in October or November. The meeting ended and when it was over I glanced at my watch as I got in the car and the time was 11:33.

I then rode to Harriet M ’s house because she asked me to help her with a computer problem she was having. I got her problem solved and then I rode into Emmitsburg. I stopped at St. Joseph’s to pray the rosary but the parish hall was locked so I did not. I looked at my watch as I tried to enter and the time was 12:33.

Later C.R.C. called and said he was ready to be picked up from his part time job at Brewster’s Ice Cream. I rode into Gettysburg and picked him up and we went to lunch together. We then rode back to St. Peters for a few minutes. We then rode home and while I was driving home I suddenly felt a strong feeling of peace following a sudden thought about Mission of Mercy. The kind of peace I have only experienced in Emmitsburg and Medjugorje. When it hit I glanced at my watch and the time was 3:13:33.

Sunday May 7

5th Demonic Dream and Public Apparition of Our Lady of Emmitsburg

It has been a good while since I have had one of those vivid dreams where I am confronted by a demon or the devil himself but it happened again tonight. In this dream I was standing in a large room with a huge stone fire place. I looked over the fire place and saw what looked like huge moth wings camouflaged against the stone work of the fireplace. The wing span was about 5 or 6 feet.

I saw it move and as it did the moth wings transformed into brown bat wings with a bone structure running through the wings. It then turned its head towards me showing long needle type teeth. It leaped off the wall and attacked me. I was able to fight it off and I woke up. I prayed and went back to sleep.

When I woke up I returned a call from Karen M who needed some help getting things ready for today’s apparition at the Lynfield Event Complex. When I flipped my cell phone open to call her the time displayed on it was 8:13.

Karen said she needed for me to pick up a large stand that Gianna’s statue of Our Lady of Fatima stands on and take it to the Lynfield Event Complex because her husband Mick is out of town. I told Karen I would ride over and pick it up in my truck after we got out of mass.

S.C.C., C.R.C. and myself got ready for mass and rode to St. Mary’s. Both S.C.C. and I were scheduled to be Eucharistic ministers today at the 10:30 mass. We lined up to process into the church and Fr. Mike said “We are running about a minute late this morning”. I looked at my watch as we processed in and the time was 10:33. During the consecration I very suddenly felt the feeling of peace. I glanced at my watch and the time was 11:13:33. Mass ended and we processed out at 11:33.

S.C.C. and I did our Eucharistic minister duties after mass When we finished S.C.C. said she was going home and I was going to Karen’s to get the stand. I glanced at my watch as we walked out the door and it said XX:XX:33.

After getting the stand I left Karen’s and my cell phone rang. It was Phil C reminding me that I needed to line up the 5 people for the rosary again this month. I decided I would stop at St. Peter’s and find someone there who would like to lead a decade. I glanced at my watch and it said XX:XX:13.

I arrived at St. Peters and the odometer was 33. I found someone there who wanted to lead a decade. I gave Pat the 1st decade. I then left St. Peter’s and glanced at my watch and the time was 1:13. I stopped by St. Joseph’s to say a prayer before leaving for the Lynfield Event Complex and when I arrived there the odometer was still 33.

I drove to the Lynfield and when I arrived the odometer was 1.3. Karen was already there and she and her daughter Catherine decorated the stand Gianna’s statue of Our Lady of Fatima stands on. During this time I wandered around and found four more people to lead the rosary.

During this time Gwen L came up to me and asked if I could stop by her house this evening because she wanted to show me her new slate icon of The Trinity. Gwen lives near me so I said yes. A few minutes later Mike Sullivan started the prayer group and I glanced at my watch as he did and the time was 3:13.

There was a huge crowd today. There were not enough seats for everyone there. I would estimate it to be around 450 people. Our Lady came at 3:44 during the 4th decade while Joe Martin led the rosary.

There were two priest there, Fr. Simon Ingler and Fr. Philip Romano O.F.M. Cap. Fr. Romano gave the final blessing and said “ I will be back”. When he said that I felt the peace and glanced at my watch and the time was 4:33. Everything ended and as I loaded the stand and Sr. Genevieve’s picture of Our Lady of Emmitsburg back in my truck I noticed the time was 5:13.

Jim O’Brien came up to me and said we were invited to dinner at Peter and Mary Blanchard’s house this evening. I accepted. As we were leaving Karen Major gave me a gym bag that Gianna’s daughter left behind.

We drove to Peter and Mary’s house and had dinner. There were about 6 of us. Gianna and Ann Marie also came and I was able to deliver the gym bag. After dinner I drove home and glanced at my watch as I walked in the door. It said XX:XX:33.

I had only been home about a minute before Gwen L called wanting to know why I did not stop by. I explained to her that it slipped my mind and I told her I would stop by on Tuesday evening when I get home from work to see her new painting of The Trinity. It was at that instant when we hung up I felt the peace and glanced at my watch and the time was 10:13.
