Emmitsburg & Medjugorje

July 25, 2007

From my personal experience it is impossible for me to separate the events in Emmitsburg from those in Medjugorje. This is because what I began to experience at the Thursday Night Prayer Group at St. Joseph’s in Emmitsburg happened exactly the same way on each of my five trips to Medjugorje.

Our Lady is appearing in both locations and in Her own special way She has let me know this it true. For me to reject what She has let me personally know as true would be like taking the most wonderful gifts a person could possibly receive and throwing them away. I can assure you that if the most staunch opponents of the apparitions of Our Lady of Emmitsburg had experienced what I have experienced they would be singing an entirely different song.

Accepting the fact of Our Lady’s presence in Emmitsburg and Medjugorje requires a change in ones life. Those not willing to make the necessary changes are the ones who reject Her presence and rationalize there rejection by accepting in there mind (not heart) that the apparitions are false thus making it very convenient for them to continue the path they are on without embracing any needed change.

Those who accept in there heart that the apparitions are true are graced by God and are better able to engage and make the needed change in their lives. In many cases this change is profound. These people are the ones who can not rationalize in their minds that the apparitions are false because they were able to accept the God given truth of the heart over the human rationalization of the mind.

The intermingling of both Emmitsburg and Medjugorje was very apparent in my life today. This happens from time to time and I recognize it immediately as it happens. I truly believe that there is a reason for me writing down all of my Emmitsburg and Medjugorje experiences, I just don’t know what it is.

I had to drive S.C.C.’s car to work today because mine is in the shop getting inspected. I tried to take my truck and drive it to work but the battery was dead from sitting so long. I stopped at St. Joseph’s on my way to work and when I arrived the time on the dash was 7:33.

I sat out in the car and prayed for a few minutes. Later while I was driving to work I suddenly remembered that because today is the 25th there would be a new public message from Our Lady of Medjugorje. At this point Medjugorje remained on my mind much of the day. I was able to clearly remember different things about each trip we have made.

Later in the day I took my lunch break and rode across the street to All Saint’s for the noon mass. The priest was Fr. Tucker who has just started at All Saint’s. During his homily he mentioned that today was the feast of St. James. When he said that my mind went straight back to Medjugorje so clearly it almost felt like I was sitting in St. James Parish in Medjugorje. I had a sudden mental image of sitting inside St. James that was so clear it was like being there. I glanced at my watch and the time was 12:13.

Mass continued and I never stopped thinking about Medjugorje and Emmitsburg. I went to Holy Communion and when I returned to my pew with the host still on my tongue and knelt down I glanced at my watch and the time was 12:33:00.

Mass ended and I went back to work. Later in the day as the workload allowed I took another break and rode back to All Saint’s to pray my daily rosary before the Blessed Sacrament because they have adoration on Wednesday’s. I prayed the rosary and when I finished and was leaving I glanced at my watch and the time was 4:13:13.

I went back to work and finished up a few things before leaving for the day. When I got off I rode back to All Saint’s for a few more minutes before the Blessed Sacrament. As I parked I noticed the car in front of me had the license plate of 13. I went in the adoration chapel and prayed the Medjugorje prayers which consist of 7 Our Fathers, 7 Hail Mary’s and 7 Glory Be’s. I then left and drove back to Emmitsburg. I stopped at St. Joseph’s on my way home and when I arrived (after many traffic delays) the time on the dash was 7:33.

"Dear children! Today, on the day of the Patron of your Parish, I call you to imitate the lives of the Saints. May they be, for you, an example and encouragement to a life of holiness. May prayer for you be like the air you breathe in and not a burden. Little children, God will reveal His love to you and you will experience the joy that you are my beloved. God will bless you and give you an abundance of grace. Thank you for having responded to my call."
