A New Image of Our Lady of Emmitsburg Is Revealed For The First Time At Today’s Public Apparition & Fr. Edward D. O’Conner of Notre Dame Speaks At Today’s Apparition of Our Lady

Sunday April 6, 2008

Today was a very special day in the history of the apparitions of Our Lady of Emmitsburg. There were two events that made today’s apparition of Our Lady very noteworthy. A new picture of Our Lady of Emmitsburg was unveiled today for the first time and Fr. Edward D. O’Conner who is a theologian at Notre Dame spoke on the importance of Marian apparitions taking place around the world and how the church should (but does not) receive these wonderful gifts from Heaven for what they really are.

When I awoke this morning the very first thing that ran through my mind was the fact that Our Lady will be making Her public appearance today at the Lynfield. Because this was my first thought upon waking up I glanced over at the clock next to the bed and the time was 6:13.

Later in the morning we were sitting in the living room watching a movie on TV called “The Rocketeer”. While we were watching this movie my sister, Barbara called to say she and my mother were riding up to attend today’s apparition. At the instant she said that I just happened to glance up and on the TV screen an airplane was flying across and on its side was the number 33.

S.C.C., C.R.C. and myself went to the 10:30 mass at St. Mary’s. Mass ended and Susan T asked if I could take the Eucharist to her husband Jim who is still recovering from back surgery. I said yes. I told Fr. Mike and took the Eucharist when I left church. I then had to drive to Gettysburg to drop off C.R.C.’s friend, Tyler G who spent the weekend with us. We then rode to Jim’s house and gave him the Eucharist. We finished and as we left I glanced down and the time on the dash was 1:13.

S.C.C. and I rode to St. Peter’s Books and then left from there to go to the Lynfield. We arrived and like always I helped set up all of the equipment needed for the prayer group. Mike Sullivan started the prayer group shortly after 3 PM. He spoke for a few minutes and then suddenly I felt the peace as I thought about my mom and sister being here today. I glanced down and the time was 3:13.

Mike continued to make announcements and welcomed Fr. Edward D. O’Conner along with the other priest who were present. Mike then invited Gianna to come up because she had an announcement she wanted to make.

Gianna then said that after more than a year of working with Fairfield artist Carol Shenk that a new picture of Our Lady of Emmitsburg has been painted. Gianna then took the drape off that was covering the painting and the new picture of Our Lady of Emmitsburg was unveiled for the first time. As Gianna removed the cover and the picture became visible to the public for the first time I felt the peace and glanced at my watch and the time was 3:33.

After the unveiling of the new picture the prayers began. Our Lady came during the 3rd decade of the rosary and gave a beautiful message to the world. Mike Sullivan then invited me to come up and lead the Marian Consecration of St. Louis DeMontfort. Mick Major usually does this but he was out of town and Mike asked me yesterday if I would do it. Anyway I finished leading the prayer and at that instant I felt the peace run through me. I glanced at my watch as I handed the microphone back to Mike and the time was 4:33.

Mike then gave the introduction to Fr. Edward D. O’Conner. Fr O’Conner gave a wonderful talk on the importance of Marian apparitions and why so many are taking place in the world now. He talked about the church wrongly ignoring them. It was refreshing. When everything was over I helped clean up and then after everything was done we got in the car to leave and the time on the dash was 6:13.
